Matt Rhule Leaving Baylor for the Queen City
Tuesday morning, the Carolina Panthers hired Baylor head coach Matt Rhule as the next head coach of the team, according to Pete Thamel of Yahoo Sports.
Rhule previously coached at Temple University and lead the team to two 10-win seasons and two bowl wins before heading to Baylor. Rhule took Baylor from a one-win program in 2017 to 11 wins and a Sugar Bowl berth in 2019.
Rhule hasn’t coached with an NFL team since spending time as an offensive line coach with the New York Giants (more on them in a second), where he won a super bowl in 2012.
Rhule was one of the most coveted potential hires in this year’s coaching carousel so, with this hire, there are bound to be plenty of winners and losers.
