The Tar Heels overwhelmed the Owls to claim the Military Bowl championship.

The return of Mack Brown was a smashing success. The Tar Heels capped off the triumphant return season with a dominant 55-13 win over Temple in the Military Bowl. For UNC, it’s the first bowl win since 2013. For Brown, it’s his first bowl win at UNC since 1997, when the Tar Heels won 11 games and the Gator Bowl.

The Tar Heels completely dominated the Owls in every facet of the game. Star freshman quarterback Sam Howell was efficient and precise, completing 25 passes for 294 yards and three touchdowns, even adding a receiving touchdown to his line. North Carolina outgained Temple 534 to 272 and owned the Owls on the ground. The Tar Heels scored through the air, on the ground, and on defense.
