Andrei Svechnikov – 2018; First Round; Number 2
Only the Canes second ever second overall pick, Svechnikov could prove very soon to be the Hurricanes best pick ever. The 19 year old is just insane in what he has proven already to be able to accomplish.
In his rookie season, Svechnikov put up 20 goals, all at even strength, and scored the first two playoff goals for the Hurricanes in nearly a decade. Svechnikov has gone on this year to improve on nearly all of his rookie season numbers being only 5 goals and 1 point behind them in only December.
Oh, yeah. And he pulled off the “Svech.” Twice. The only player to ever do it in the NHL and he has now done it twice in the span of two months. That’s why he gets it named after him.
You be the judge: Which Andrei Svechnikov lacrosse goal is better? 🤔

As head coach Rod Brind’Amour said, the sky’s the limit for this kid and it sure will be exciting to follow his career and see what he will accomplish.
