2. Boston Bruins

This would be an intriguing matchup for a throwback “Winter Classic” style game. This would be a great opportunity to see the Throwback jerseys of the defunct Whalers brought back out. The historic matchup would be fun to see under the lights outdoors.

The Whalers Throwbacks have been very popular since being introduced, as Tom Dundon has fully embraced the nostalgia to bring more money to Raleigh. This would be a good looking game, the Bruins in a classic design of their own vs the green that left Connecticut so long ago.

I’ve always thought the winter classic would be a great way to show off the league’s history, much like MLB does with Turn Back the Clock games. Being able to revive defunct teams for one last go outdoors on a big stage would be a great showpiece for the league. The Bruins have a great history in this league, some of the uniform matchups could nice to see in HD.

Not to mention wearing the throwbacks would upset the traditionalists who believe the Canes don’t belong. The uproar was glorious when the green jerseys where brought out the first time, and the tears just keep flowing every time they come back. To them I say, stay mad, they’re not coming back. bless your heart.
