There is no question that Roy Williams should be number one on this list. The hall of fame coach has an all-time record of 875-234 including a 79-26 NCAA Tournament record. With three national championships and nine Final Fours, Coach Williams is among the best coaches of all time. He will always be remembered as one of the most important people in the history of UNC. Now with his name on the court for likely forever, it would be hard to not remember.

The past few years of recruiting for Roy Williams have been extremely impressive. Ever since 2017’s 19th ranked recruiting class, there seems to have been steady improvement every year. In 2018 the class was ranked 13th, 2019 was ranked ninth, and 2020 is currently ranked third. The upcoming third-ranked class features three players ranked in the top 22 nationally according to 24/7 Sports.

There should be plenty of exciting years of Carolina basketball in the future with Roy Williams leading the charge. He is a great ambassador for UNC, the state of North Carolina and basketball as a whole.
