No. 1: Wes Moore and the Women’s Basketball Team

WAITANGI, NEW ZEALAND – NOVEMBER 20: Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall meets the school’s therapy dog, Meg, and joins Liam Curtis reading to the dog during a visit to the Kerikeri Primary School on November 20, 2019 in Waitangi, New Zealand. Her Royal Highness met children in the school’s garden participating in the Garden to Table programme, which encourages children to grow their own vegetables and then learn to make recipes in the kitchen from the food they have grown. The Duchess was invited to plant a tree in the school’s ‘Duchess Garden’ to commemorate the visit and joins children in the school hall who are preparing food from the garden with a parent volunteer. First off, a sincere apology that we don’t have access to a photo of the N.C. State women’s basketball team or Wes Moore. The team doesn’t get a lot of publicity throughout the FanSided network and there are no photos in our repository. There is a photo of the Duchess of Cornwall with her therapy dog, so you get that instead.

With that being said, we are super grateful for this team. Currently ranked No. 14 in the nation, the ladies are once again poised to make noise in both the ACC and the NCAA Tournament.

The current squad is 4-0, with a trip to Hawaii awaiting them this weekend, where they’ll play Texas, Hawaii, and North Texas before returning to play No. 9 Maryland in the ACC/B1G Challenge. Sophomore Elissa Cunane leads the team in scoring with 13.3 PPG on 64.5 percent shooting from the field.

Since arriving at N.C. State, Moore is an astounding 140–57 (.711) overall and 63–33 (.656) in the ACC. His teams have made four NCAA Tournaments, including the Sweet Sixteen twice.

A brilliant hire by former athletic director Debbie Yow, Moore should lead the women’s team at N.C. State for years to come if we are lucky.
