There was a lot of angst from Wolfpack fans after N.C. State lost to Georgia Tech to open the season, but the fact remains that Kevin Keatts is a winner. His current squad has a lot to be thankful for, including the opportunity to watch stars in guards Markell Johnson and C.J. Bryce as well as forward D.J. Funderburk.

Keatts gave a beautiful gift for N.C. State fans last week, signing what is currently the fifth-ranked recruiting class in the nation. Four-star small forward Josh Hall headlines the class and represents the best class at N.C. State since Dennis Smith Jr. signed with the team in 2016. Keatts forward progress with the program represents something to be excited for heading into 2020 and beyond.

For the time being, we’ll find out more about the current team this week, as the Wolfpack travels to Brooklyn to take on Memphis in the Barclays Center Classic. The going doesn’t get any easier when the team returns, as a home game with Wisconsin precedes road match-ups with Wake Forest, UNC-Greensboro, and Auburn.

Before we inevitably get let down during that stretch, let’s just be thankful for an interesting and talented team, with an incredibly bright future ahead.
