1. CJ Johnson – Freshman Wide Receiver

The freshman wide receiver has been dominant during the second half of the season. Ever since October 19th in Orlando, he has looked like a future NFL talent. He broke the school’s single-game receiving yards record with 283 yards against Cincinnati. That’s a pretty impressive record to own considering ECU has housed the top two receivers on the NCAA all-time receptions list in Justin Hardy and Zay Jones.

As a Pirate fan, you should be very excited about the next three seasons of Johnson hauling in catches. Donnie Kirkpatrick has mentioned how he thinks CJ might be the most talented receiver to ever step on campus. That is some high praise from someone who coached the likes of Hardy and Jones at ECU. You should be thankful for the opportunity to watch an elite wide receiver grow into a star right before your eyes.
