3. Mike Houston – Head Coach

The first-year head coach has brought a lot of hope back to Pirate fans already. With an all-time record of 84-32 (.724), Mike Houston is a proven winner. In just his first year as head coach of James Madison (2016), he led them to a 14-1 record and a National Championship. He took the Dukes to the playoffs all of his three seasons, with two National Championship game appearances.

Saturday, Houston helped ECU secure their fourth win for the first time since 2015. In his first year, I believe that he has been pleased with the growth of the team thus far. The difference between the team during the first few games and the team during the last few years has been staggering. Fans should enjoy having him these next few years because there’s a good chance that he’ll be near the top of a lot of school’s list soon.
