Notre Dame stormed out to an early 21-0 lead on Saturday and never looked back. The Blue Devil offense continued their struggles by recording just 197 total yards and one score. The defense was able to force a couple of turnovers but was unable to slow down Ian Book and the Irish offense down. The Devils are now on a three-game losing streak and are going to need to win two of their last three to salvage the season and go bowling.

Week 12: vs Syracuse

3. North Carolina Tar Heels (4-5)

Last Week’s Ranking: 3

Coming off an off-week, the Tar Heels have their eyes set on a trip to a bowl game. Assuming a win against Mercer, they will need to win at Pittsburgh or at N.C. State if they want to finish .500 and play in the postseason. If they end their season with a bowl victory, it would be considered a fairly successful first year for Mack Brown and company. In total, Carolina has lost five games by a combined 19 points so far this season.
