It was another exciting week of football here in North Carolina, and one that featured Appalachian State getting another Power Five win to move to 8-1 on the season. Will that be enough to reclaim the top spot in this week’s rankings? Or will the Demon Deacons, who were caught looking ahead on Saturday, hold on to the top spot? Without further ado, here is the NC Football Top-5 —>

5. NC State Wolfpack (4-5)

An angry Clemson Tiger team came roaring into Raleigh this past weekend and left N.C. State with an overwhelming defeat. The Wolfpack caught the Tigers at a horrible time with the inaugural CFB Playoff Rankings coming out a few days before and showing them no respect. The bright spot for the Pack was a solid performance from freshman running back, Zonovan Knight. He had 12 carries for 139 yards and a touchdown. State will need to beat Louisville and/or Georgia Tech to set up a huge game against the Tar Heels in Raleigh in a game that could be a battle for bowl eligibility.
