On Tuesday night, the Duke Blue Devils beat the Kansas Jayhawks 68-66 in their season opener at Madison Square Garden.

For the eighth time in program history, Duke has downed Kansas. In their first matchup since the 2018 NCAA Tournament, the Blue Devils squeaked out a two-point victory in one of basketball’s most storied arenas. Four Duke players scored in double-figures, led by Tre Jones’ 15 points and six assists. There was some good, bad, and ugly for the Blue Devils, but it was nonetheless a huge win for Coach K’s squad. Without further ado, here are three takeaways from Duke’s Opening Night win.
