The Carolina defense is currently giving up the eighth-fewest passing yards in all of football, and has intercepted more passes (12) than they’ve allowed touchdowns (10). Four Panthers have multiple interceptions (three defensive backs, the other is Kuechly), and as a team, they have picked off the second-most passes in the league. James Bradberry is having a career year in 2019, and Donte Jackson is Carolina’s most exciting defensive back since Josh Norman. Add in the return of Tre Boston and the solid play from Eric Reid, it makes sense why the Panthers are one of the best in the league at defending the pass. Even Javien Elliott and Ross Cockrell have made key contributions through the first half of the season.
