Ranking the top five college football teams in North Carolina after Week 10

It was another exciting week of football here in North Carolina that featured undefeated Appalachian State losing their first game of the season. Where will they fall in this week’s ranking? Also, there was a great in-state match-up with NC State falling to Wake Forest on Saturday. Will Wake Forest take over the top spot? Here is the NC Football Top Five.

5. NC State Wolfpack (4-4)

Last Weeks Ranking: 5

It was the regular disappointing trip to Winston-Salem for N.C. State. The Wolfpack got dominated from start to finish Saturday, as they failed to score in three of the four quarters. Special teams and defense both looked flat while the offense could never get anything going with Devin Leary during his first career start at quarterback. Leary went 17 for 45 with 149 yards, a touchdown, and two interceptions. Playing on the road against a Top 25 team isn’t an ideal time to start a QB for the first time, but they didn’t have much of a choice. Dave Doeren’s seat is starting to get a little warm.
