Fresh off an opening night win, Hornets fans will likely be feeling okay about the 2019-20 team at this point. While the Bulls are hardly a playoff contender, at least the team had a shred of life and was able to win its opening game.

The Timberwolves are a perennial underachiever led by Karl-Anthony Towns. Despite being expected to compete for a Western Conference title last season, the Timberwolves limped to a 36-win season without Jimmy Butler.

Towns averaged a double-double during the season but Andrew Wiggins continued to be ineffective as a star-level player and the return for Butler (Robert Covington and Dario Saric) failed to make a significant impact.

Saric was traded this offseason to move up and select center Jarrett Culver out of Texas and the team added Shabazz Napier, Jordan Bell, Jake Layman, Treveon Graham, Noah Vonleh and Tyrone Wallace to its roster.

The Hornets have no one on its roster that can match up with KAT, who goes wild and drops 30 points and 20 rebounds.

The happy feelings of opening night fade quickly in a rough follow-up, as the Hornets get blown out at home.

Final Score: Timberwolves 119 Hornets 91 (Record 1-1)
