In Bill Peter’s second year with the team, the Hurricanes again struggled out of the gate. This time it was the same losing formula: weak offensive production and unreliable goaltending. With Eddie Lack being brought in from Vancouver, the goaltending alongside Cam Ward still struggled to play up to league average.

Other acquisition James Wisniewski, who the Hurricanes acquired from the Anaheim Ducks for Anton Khudobin, tore his ACL in the opening minute of the first game and missed the rest of the season.

Rookie Noah Hanifin played in his first NHL games with the team and notched his first point against the Red Wings on Oct. 10, 2015.
