No. 4: Hornets home uniforms (1988-2002):

An original Hornets uniform, these threads are a timeless classic. The four pinstripes going down the front of this jersey make it one of the few uniforms in NBA history to regularly feature pinstripes. What makes the pinstriping even more unique is the fact that each stripe is a different color. From left to right, the stripes are dark blue, teal, purple, and dark green. Later versions would include double pinstripes and a wide teal stripe down both sides of the jersey and shorts.

These uniforms were actually worn in the Hornets’ first game ever on November 4, 1988. Additional features of this uniform include the striping around the collar and arms of the jersey, each with five stripes, one teal, one purple, one dark blue, and two white stripes. Last season, the Hornets brought this particular uniform back as a throwback option.

Upon bringing these unis back, the stripe order was tweaked, as well as the “CHARLOTTE” script wasn’t as large, however, it was still cool to see such a cool look return to the floor. A uniform that once graced the backs of classic Hornets legends now gets to return to action in the modern Hornets era.
