No. 5: Teal “Icon” Edition (2017-Present)

Unveiled prior to the 2017-2018 season, the current “Icon” uniform is similar to what the team first wore as an alternate jersey following the transition from the Bobcats to the Hornets in 2014. The first teal uniform following the name change had “CHARLOTTE” across the chest plate. The current tops have “HORNETS” scripted across the front.

Other features of this uniform include a purple collar, purple numbers, and a purple outline of the chest plate. These, as well as the white name plate have remained the same since the Hornets rebranded in 2014.

Despite the simplicity of this design, it actually has a few minute details that make this uniform interesting. The first thing is the stripes on the side of the jersey and pants. There are four stripes going down the left side of the uniform, however there are none on the right side. Other interesting features on this uni combo include the white hornet on the waistband, as well as the presence of the Jordan brand logo in the top right corner.
