The Flyers are my big upset pick for this season. I see the Flyers as having a lot of the pieces they need to get back into contention. Truly, I am not sure if they can work together or along with new head coach, Alain Vigneault, but I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt. Philadelphia has always been able to put together long winning stretches and can steal wins from any team, yet have historically shown that they will drop just as many games in a long losing streak.

The Flyers have an amazing top-six supplemented with the addition of Kevin Hayes, albeit overpaid, and have a few key pieces on the backend that just re-signed. Along with Carter Hart emerging as a true number one goaltender, the Flyers look to be a bubble contender or at the very least the best team in Pennsylvania.

Notable Additions: Kevin Hayes, Matt Niskanen, Kurtis Gabriel

Notable Losses: Radko Gudas, Andrew McDonald, David Schlemko
