One Player to Watch on Appalachian State:
If UNC Wins:
If the Tar Heels win, its going to be a really good thing for a team that only had two wins just one season ago. The Tar Heels would already have their third win of the season going into the start of conference play with a team on a confidence high going into a major matchup with the Clemson Tigers on the 28th of September.
If UNC Loses:
This loss would probably look worse than it actually is. Appalachian State is an incredibly talented team, with offensive play-makers littered throughout its roster. However, the perception of UNC losing to App State would be devastating to the Tar Heels reputation, especially among those who don’t follow college football religiously. Losing would feed the narrative that UNC’s start to the season was an aberration.
Prediction:
UNC is a good football team and has already beaten two top squads in college football. Appalachian State might pose a bigger threat than both of them. It’s going to be a shootout. Appalachian State can score and UNC should be able to shred the Mountaineers defense. Give me UNC as they go to 3-1.
