Where will Kemba Walker play next season?

For the Charlotte Hornets, what has by far been the most important story line to watch has been what All-Star point guard Kemba Walker will decide to do once free agency opens up. Walker himself said earlier this offseason that Charlotte was his number one priority, leading fans and media alike to believe he would remain with the team who drafted him. However, in the same interview, he did say that he was ready to play for another team if that’s what ended up being the best option.

Walker is coming off his third straight All-Star season where he averaged 25.6 points, 4.4 rebounds, 5.9 assists and 1.2 steals per game while shooting from 43.4 percent from the floor and 35.6 percent from 3-point range. He has also displayed impressive durability, playing in all 82 games last season and missing just six games over the last four seasons as a whole. While his team hasn’t made the playoffs in those three years, this performance has put him on the radar for teams in need of a dynamic point guard this offseason. With a plethora of options available, these chances of landing him are as up for grabs as just about any other star entering free agency.

Over the past few weeks, the tides have shifted back and forth on what Walker will end up doing. With free agency opening on Sunday at 6 p.m., let’s take a look a Walker’s five most likely destinations once he makes his decision for the upcoming season.
