NBA Free Agents: Five Players the Hornets Should Go After
By Joseph Ochoa
Kentavious Caldwell-Pope
Caldwell-Pope’s whole career has been just a myriad of what-ifs, but he put together a decent year playing with the Lakers during the 18-19 season.
He had shot just over 34 percent from three-point range last season, which is fine but is down from the career high he had just a season ago. With the Lakers becoming a much more envious free agent destination, the likelihood the Lakers retain him is dwindling down.
Should Jeremy Lamb leave during the offseason, Caldwell-Pope could be a decent replacement for an affordable price for the Hornets.
He would more than likely be a stepping stone for Malik Monk to make the step to a consistent starting option in the backcourt, but until then, Caldwell-Pope could fill the void and easily transition into a solid sixth-man after the transition is finished.
