Deon Jackson carrying the run game

The rushing attack for the Duke football team got off to a rough start to the year as Brittain Brown suffered an injury in the first game and hasn’t really had much of an impact. He missed this week’s game due to a lower body injury.

However, this created an opportunity for Deon Jackson who has stepped up and done a solid job as the featured back. Against the Yellow Jackets, Jackson came two yards short of his first career 100-yard rushing game with the Blue Devils, averaging 4.7 yards per carry and had one rushing touchdown.

Jackson now has a rushing touchdown in each of the past four games and over that span is averaging over five yards a carry. It would be smart for David Cutcliffe and this Blue Devils coaching staff to continue to call Jackson’s number, even when Brown returns from his injury.
