These are the key players to watch on the Carolina Panthers as they look to win their third straight game of the season.

Some may call the Carolina Panthers win over the New York Giants lucky as Graham Gano needed a 63-yard field goal in the closing seconds to secure the win. However, a win is a win and the Panthers have now won three out of their first four games and will be looking for their third straight win of the season over the Washington Redskins.

This will be a good test for the Panthers as it will be only their second road trip of the year, and the first game away from Bank of America Stadium resulted in their lone loss.

The focus this week for the Panthers’ offense needs to be getting this passing game going. The early returns on Norv Turner’s offense hasn’t been great as the team ranks 25th in passing yards per game with 211. While Cam Newton’s completion percentage is up this year, he isn’t able to connect much down field with only one game over 250 passing yards and two of his four starts have been under 175 passing yards.

The defense on the other hand has struggled to stop opposing quarterbacks as they rank 26th in the NFL in passing yards against, allowing 281 yards. This defense will have the challenge of incorporating a number of new players that have become available the past few weeks. The team added safety Eric Reid to the starting lineup last week and will be welcoming back Thomas Davis from his suspension for this week’s game.

These are the key players to watch on the Carolina Panthers when they face the Washington Redskins in Week 6.
