The Carolina Panthers did come away with the win over the New York Giants but some positions performed much better than others.

The good news is that the Carolina Panthers are 3-1 thanks to a 63-yard field goal in the final seconds by Graham Gano. However, the coaching staff will have plenty to discuss and work on ahead of next week’s game against the Washington Redskins.

It was a hard fought game as neither team had a double digit lead at any point in the second half. The two teams traded turnovers, with two interceptions thrown by both teams over a span of six drives.

This week certainly wasn’t the best performance by this Panthers’ offense as they struggled to move the ball consistently down the field, converting only four of 13 third down attempts.

However, this offense made plays when it was needed whether it was Cam Newton throwing a block on DJ Moore’s run to Curtis Samuel breaking numerous tackles on his way to his first career touchdown.

The defense meanwhile really struggled to slow down this Giants offense as they were able to throw the ball almost at will. Eli Manning, and Odell Beckham Jr., combined for 382 passing yards and three touchdowns.

While they did struggle, they also were able to force turnovers thanks to Mike Adams who had two interceptions on back to back drives.

These are our grades for each position group for the Carolina Panthers in Week 5 against the New York Giants.
