Carlos Basham Jr. continues to get pressure

It is not always easy to find a positive for a defense that gave up nearly 700 total yards and 63 points. However, if there was a bright spot it was the play of Carlos ‘Boogie’ Basham Jr., who continues to be a force along this defensive line.

Against Clemson, Basham had five total tackles with one sack, which was his third in five games. He also had a key play early in the game on Clemson’s second drive when he was able to recover a fumble by quarterback Trevor Lawrence.

The defense for the Wake Forest football team is clearly a weak spot for this team and now have given up an average of 46 points per game over the past four games. While they are unlikely to drastically turn their performance around at this point in the season, the play of Basham is something that fans should watch for.
