The Wake Forest football team struggled to slow down Clemson as they lost 63-3. These are the key takeaways from the Demon Deacon’s blow out loss.

The Wake Forest football team entered this week hoping to pull off an upset on the road against fourth ranked Clemson. While the Demon Deacons was able to keep the Tigers’ offense in check in the first quarter, down only 7-0, it quickly ballooned to a 28-0 halftime lead and they weren’t able to get back in the game.

The Wake Forest defense once again struggled as they allowed 698 total yards with the Clemson run game gashing them for 471 yards and six rushing touchdowns. They had two backs, Travis Etienne and Lyn-J Dixon, each finish with over 160 rushing yards and as a team averaged 11.8 yards per carry.

Meanwhile, the offense for the Wake Forest football team never was able to get into a rhythm with only 249 total yards and eight drives that ended with three and outs. The Demon Deacons had three quarterbacks throw a pass (Sam Hartman, Kendall Hinton, and Matthew Considine) who combined completed only seven of 27 pass attempts for 74 total yards.
