Secondary looks shaky

The Panthers had a new addition to their secondary this week as the team signed free agent safety Eric Reid during their bye week. The addition of Reid didn’t help this team as they gave up a season high 382 passing yards to the Giants.

It certainly isn’t fair to put the blame squarely on Reid’s shoulders. There was expected to be some learning curve and adjustments adding a new player to the starting lineup. The bigger concern is with the other players in this group.

This group didn’t have an answer to stopping the Giants and it started with Odell Beckham Jr. who had eight receptions, 137 receiving yards and his first receiving touchdown on the year.

It is a little too early to sound the alarms but it is something worth watching in the coming weeks to see if this group, with a little more playing time with Eric Reid on the field, can improve after today’s game.
