Graham Gano exorcised some demons

While he has made some game winning field goals over his career, the missed field goal in Super Bowl 50 as well as the missed field goal to start the 2016 season, both games against the Denver Broncos, is still very much etched into fans’ mind.

However, on Sunday Gano helped erase some of those bad memories with an incredible 63-yard field goal in the closing seconds to give the Panthers not only the lead but the win.

Gano has been the Panthers’ kicker for the past six seasons and has had an up and down career with the franchise. He had one of his worst careers in 2016 which led to the Panthers drafting kicker Harrison Butker.

However, he has rebounded and is playing some of the best football of his career. He was rewarded for his performance with a new four-year deal this past offseason. That is a move that is looking pretty smart after Sunday’s game against the New York Giants.
