Offense finds some balance

Before this game against Boston College, the NC State football team has relied fairly consistently on Ryan Finley to move this offense. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing as Finley has played well and is one of the top quarterbacks in college.

However, for this offense to really fire on all cylinders they need a run game to keep opposing defenses honest. That is exactly what they got against Boston College as Reggie Gallaspy II and Ricky Person Jr. had great games, combining for 196 rushing yards, over five yards per carry and two touchdowns.

The output from the rushing attack has improved every week from 83 yards against James Madison University the first game of the season to a season high 225 against Boston College.

If Gallaspy and Person are able to continue to play well, it should make Finley’s job a little easier as defenses won’t have the luxury of dropping so many players back into coverage and will need to respect this rushing attack.
