These are the key players to watch for the Carolina Panthers in their Week 5 matchup against the New York Giants.

The Carolina Panthers are coming off their bye week and will be heading into a matchup with the New York Giants that seems to have more storylines off the field than on it. This will be the first game the Panthers face their former general manager Dave Gettleman, who has taken over that role for the Giants.

Meanwhile, this will also going to be the first time Jonathan Stewart would be facing his former team. However, Stewart suffered a foot injury that landed him on injured reserve this past week.

Aside from the former Panthers returning to Charlotte, this is a pivotal game for the Panthers as they try to keep pace in a very competitive NFC South.

Entering this season, it was expected to be a three team race between the New Orleans Saints, Atlanta Falcons and the Panthers. However, the Bucs have also remained competitive at 2-2 with the Saints leading the way at 3-1 and the Falcons at a surprising 1-3.

These are the key players for the Carolina Panthers to secure a win over the New York Giants and to keep pace in the NFC South.
