Charlotte Hornets: Top takeaways from the start of the preseason
Miles Bridges looks to be a steal
The other player that is really turning heads this preseason has to be rookie Miles Bridges. The Hornets’ first round pick after scoring 10 points with eight rebounds in his first game against the Boston Celtics has really found his stride the past two games.
He finished with 23 points, a team-high, in the second game against the Celtics and had 14 points with six rebounds against the Heat. One area he has improved over these past two games in from behind the arc, hitting six of nine from behind the three-point line.
The forward from Michigan State not only has found his range but has had highlight reel type plays, like this one, almost every game.
The early returns are great from Bridges and while he may not break into the starting five right away, he will be a great player to have come off the bench with the second unit. It certainly looks like Mitch Kupchak got it right with his first pick.
