Get pressure on the quarterback

Another way to rattle an offense is to make sure that the quarterback is not comfortable while in the pocket. The focus for the defensive front this week will be to get pressure on whoever is under center, whether that is Lawrence or Brice.

The Syracuse Orange did a good job of this in their upset bid and they finished the game with four sacks and three QB hurries.

The Demon Deacons really haven’t been able to generate much pressure on opposing quarterbacks as of late. In the past three games, the Wake Forest football team only has two sacks and nine QB hurries over that stretch.

Now this isn’t to say they don’t have the talent to get to the quarterback, as this defensive line has some excellent pass rushers. The pressure can come from the outside with Boogie Basham or at defensive tackle with Willie Yarbary and Zeek Rodney.

If the Wake Forest football team upsets Clemson, it would not be surprising if one of these names finished with multiple sacks.
