DJ Moore needs more playing time

One of the greatest mysteries for the Carolina Panthers this season has been why DJ Moore has not been more involved in this offense? Through the first three games, he has been targeted only 4 times with two receptions for 54 yards and one touchdown.

The Panthers drafted Moore in the first round and any time he has been on the field, rather it has been regular season or preseason, he looks like an impact player. The first reception Moore had was against the Falcons and scored a 51-yard touchdown, breaking a few tackles along the way.

The challenge for the coaching staff, and is likely why Moore hasn’t seen more snaps, is that this wide receiver position is deep. The top of the depth chart has Devin Funchess, Torrey Smith and Jarius Wright, who is playing some of the best football of any wide receiver on this team.

In addition to those wide receivers, the Panthers are expected to get Curtis Samuel back soon who had a medical procedure done earlier this season.

No matter what the coaching staff does, there is no question that DJ Moore needs to be on the field more for this offense. He has shown flashes of being a difference maker and could be a big weapon down the stretch.
