Greg Dortch leads the offense

The Demon Deacons finished with 414 total yards of offense and wide receiver Greg Dortch alone accounted for 40% of their total offense. He finished the game catching 11 of the team’s 17 receptions for 163 receiving yards with four touchdowns.

The sophomore found the end zone early with a 54-yard touchdown reception on the team’s second drive and had another touchdown reception in the first quarter. He added two more touchdowns, one in the second quarter and one in the third.

The Demon Deacons were supposed to have one of the best wide receiver groups in the ACC with Dortch, Scotty Washington and Alex Bachman. However, the position has been hit hard with injuries and Washington and Bachman’s impact has been minimal.

In the first five games, Dortch is averaging 78.4 receiving yards on just under seven receptions per game. The Wake Forest football team will need another big game from him next week against Clemson if they hope to pull off the upset.
