Luke Masterson has a career game

While there was plenty of stars on this defensive unit from Zeek Rodney forcing a fumble that was returned 51 yards for a touchdown by Essang Bassey to Chuck Wade Jr. returning an interception 60 yards for a touchdown.

However, Luke Masterson was the one player that really stood out and was seemingly always around the ball. He led the Demon Deacons in tackles with eight, six of them solo, along with an interception he returned 43 yards that was tipped by Bassey.

Masterson’s performance against Rice should earn him more playing time going forward.
