The NC State football team remained undefeated with a 35-21 victory over the Virginia Cavaliers. These are the top takeaways from the Wolfpack win.

The NC State football team opened ACC play on Saturday against the Virginia Cavaliers and continued their undefeated season with a 35-21 win. Quarterback Ryan Finley once again had another strong game with 264 passing yards and three touchdowns but it was the run game that finally emerged.

The Wolfpack had a season high 178 rushing yards and Ricky Person Jr. had the first 100-yard rushing game on the season. Person, along with Reggie Gallaspy II, were leaned on heavily down the stretch and helped secure the win for the NC State football team.

The second quarter was the difference in this game as Virginia had a 7-3 lead after one. However, Finley’s two touchdown passes came in the second and a field goal by Christopher Dunn as time expired at the end of the first half gave them a 24-7 lead.

The Wolfpack defense also had a strong game as they kept this Cavalier team under 100 yards rushing as a team and were able to force Bryce Perkins into throwing two interceptions.

It was a collective effort against the Cavaliers for this NC State football team and these are the top takeaways from their fourth win on the season.
