Nathan Elliott

Nathan Elliott’s performance against Pitt guaranteed him at least one more start as the quarterback for the UNC football team. He finished the game against the Panthers with 313 passing yards and two touchdowns.

However, the games prior to that weren’t pretty and it might be safe to say that the only reason Elliott remained the starter was Fedora didn’t have a reasonable option behind him.

That certainly changes this week as Chazz Surratt is eligible to return after being suspended for the first three games. Surratt was one of the Tar Heels’ starting quarterbacks last year and threw for 1,342 passing yards with eight touchdowns and three interceptions. He also had 210 rushing yards and five rushing touchdowns.

If Elliott struggles early on, it would not be surprising to see the Tar Heels make a quick switch at the quarterback position.
