Missed opportunities in the kicking game

There is no easy way to say this but it was a rough day for kicker Nick Sciba. It was clear very early in the game when the Demon Deacons lined up for their first field goal attempt of the day with Sciba no where to be found on the field.

He went on to miss that field goal but just barely as it bounced off the upright. Later in the first half, Sciba had another field goal attempt bounce off the upright. Those two field goals could have changed the perspective for the Demon Deacons going into halftime being down only nine versus the 15 points they were.

He finished the game making two of four field goal attempts, as well as all three extra point attempts.

Prior to this game Sciba has been automatic, connecting on all six field goal attempts this year. This was a tough game all around and the Wake Forest football team should focus their attention to Rice.
