Sam Hartman is the best option at QB

It certainly has to be concerning that Sam Hartman’s performance has steadily declined each game this season to a season low 12 of 24 for 110 passing yards with only 11 additional yards on the ground.

Unfortunately for this team, they don’t have a better option and should stick with Sam Hartman the remainder of the season. The true freshman left the game in the third quarter due to cramps and gave Jamie Newman a chance to run this offense.

While Newman did rack up the yards on the ground with 73 rushing yards, he struggled to throw the ball through the air. He finished the game completing only four of seven passes for 29 yards with one interception.

While Hartman had a bad game against Notre Dame, the benefits still out weigh the negative of keeping him under center. This year of experience will go a long way in the coming seasons  of running this offense.
