Nathan Elliott’s best game of the season

There is no question that this was Nathan Elliott’s best game of the season as he went 22 of 31 for 313 yards with two touchdowns.

The stat that is most impressive has to be his completion percentage of 71% as this is one stat that he has really struggled with. Prior to this game he was only completing 51% of his passes on the season.

The other reason the completion percentage is impressive is because Elliott was able to push the ball down the field more than in previous games. He finished with an average yard per attempt of 10.4, more than doubling his season average of 4.8.

Elliott is guaranteed the starting job for at least one more week since Chazz Surratt will not be eligible to return from his suspension until the Tar Heels’ game against Virginia Tech. This means that Thursday’s game against Miami will be a big test and if he has another strong performance could hold onto the job.
