Devin Funchess

The final player to keep a close eye on in Sunday’s game for the Panthers is wide receiver Devin Funchess. He is coming off a strong game against the Falcons with seven receptions for 77 yards but failed to reach the end zone.

This week may not get any easier as he will be going up against William Jackson, a cornerback who is playing as well as anyone in the NFL. This will be a tough challenge but if Funchess wants to remain as the number one wide receiver these are the games he really needs to showcase what he can do.

The Panthers have incredible depth at the wide receiver position and after DJ Moore’s performance against the Falcons, it would not be surprising to see some shuffling of the depth chart.

Now, while it is certainly early to start wondering if Funchess will begin to lose snaps, the leash may not as long as it has been in past seasons. This should be a big game for the fourth-year receiver.
