Cam Newton

While it is still early in the season, the returns of Cam Newton playing in Norv Turner’s offense has been very promising. The biggest improvement has certainly been in the completion percentage as he has been above 65% in each of the first two games.

The other big bonus is that Newton has led this offense in rushing both games. While the totals have been modest, averaging 50 yards per game, the opportunities will be there for Newton to pick up yards with his legs. This also means an increase in opportunities likely around the goal line for rushing touchdowns.

This game against the Bengals though presents Newton with a great chance to beat them through the air. In the first two games this season, the Bengals have allowed an average of 347 passing yards with two passing touchdowns.

At this point, Newton is entering the status that owners can start him every week regardless of the matchup. This is one matchup though that he could be in store for a big game.
