Duke Football: Key players to watch against NC Central
Myles Hudzick
The Blue Devils’ secondary has been hit hard with injuries in the early part of the season. In the game against Northwestern it was Mark Gilbert, who was lost for the year. Then against Baylor the team saw Michael Carter leave the game with an injury early.
However, this gave Myles Hudzick a chance to see extended playing time and he responded with a team leading nine solo tackles, including one tackle for a loss.
A constant theme with the players to watch for this game will be to get reserve players meaningful snaps in preparation for next week’s game against Virginia Tech. While the news on Michael Carter’s injury was certainly positive, the initially diagnosed was a sprained ligament in his knee.
It is hard to imagine the coaching staff willing to push Carter out there for this game so Hudzick will get the start. This experience could certainly be valuable if the team needs him the following week against the Hokies.
