Greg Dortch
These are the types of games you need your stars to shine and the Demon Deacons don’t have a bigger star than wide receiver Greg Dortch. He is currently leading the team with 28 receptions and 336 receiving yards. He also has one receiving touchdown to go along with two punt returns for touchdowns.
The nickel cornerback position is a weakness for the Fighting Irish’s defense and is one that Dortch could exploit. According 5 Panthers miss Wednesday practice to Tom O’Malley of Irish Illustrated this could have been an exciting matchup if the Fighting Irish still had Shaun Coleman. However, he suffered a knee injury in August.
If the Demon Deacons want to pull off the upset, they will need to have some big plays. There may not be a more exciting play that can change momentum than a punt return. If Dortch is able to capitalize in this part of the game, it will put the Wake Forest football team in good position.
