The Duke Blue Devils had two players named ACC Players of the Week after their 40-27 road win over the Baylor Bears.

The Duke Blue Devils entered this game against Baylor with the deck stacked against them. This was the first game since losing both their starting quarterback, Daniel Jones, and their starting cornerback, Mark Gilbert, to injuries.

However, these injuries gave a number of other players a chance to step up and two of those players were named ACC Players of the Week.

On the offensive side of the ball, one of the injuries that was a bit overshadowed by Jones and Gilbert was to center Zach Harmon. The starting center suffered an injury against Northwestern but was able to suit up for Baylor.

The coaching staff though elected to go with Jake Wohlabaugh, a transfer from Ohio State, and the decision was clearly the right one as he was named the ACC Offensive Lineman of the Week.

"OFFENSIVE LINEMAN – Jack Wohlabaugh, Duke, So., C, Akron, OhioMaking his first career start in Saturday’s 40-27 win at Baylor, Wohlabaugh posted a team-best offensive line grade, along with four knockdown blocks • He spearheaded a Duke offense that yielded zero sacks, committed zero penalties and suffered zero turnovers • Wohlabaugh provided protection for quarterback Quentin Harris, who in his first career start threw three touchdown passes with no interceptions."

The performance of Wohlabaugh, and the entire offensive line for that matter, was great to see and a boost for quarterback Quentin Harris, who made his first career start.

On the defensive side of the ball, the secondary was without their top player, Mark Gilbert, who is lost for the year due to a hip injury. This group though collective stepped up and Dylan Singleton was one of those players.

The safety finished the game second on the team in tackles with seven, had a pass breakup and a fumble recovery in the first quarter. He was named ACC Secondary Player of the Week.

"DEFENSIVE BACK – Dylan Singleton, Duke, Jr., S, Dacula, Ga.Singleton carded seven tackles, caused one fumble, recovered another and broke up a pass in the Blue Devils’ win at Baylor • His fumble recovery midway through the first quarter set up Duke’s first touchdown • Singleton led the Duke defense, which shut out Baylor in the first half en route to building a 23-0 lead at intermission."

The Duke Blue Devils have played well to this point and will have what should be a tune up game against North Carolina Central Eagles before facing their toughest challenge to date, a home game against 13th ranked Virginia Tech.
