Kicker

It was a relatively quiet day for Graham Gano however when his number was called he came through for the Carolina Panthers. He started the game off with a 54-yard field goal, which was the longest since 2016. He also hit on all three extra points attempt. It is hard to ask for much more than that.

Grade: A

Punter

Michael Palardy had four punts against the Falcons and averaged 47.8 yards per punt with a long of 53. He also had two of his four drop inside the 15 yard line. The performance of Palardy sometimes goes unsung in the field position battle. Similarly to Gano, he did what he was asked and did it well.

Final Grade

The Carolina Panthers had their best offensive performance of the early part of the 2018 season. Cam Newton looked in rhythm for most of the game, spreading the ball around among his receivers and backs. Meanwhile, the offensive line had a strong performance with a limited amount of practice time.

It was the defense that struggled in this road game as they couldn’t get pressure on Matt Ryan and couldn’t clog the running lanes for Tevin Coleman. This hopefully can be chalked up to a bad week and is not the beginning of a bigger issue.
