Blue Devils didn’t beat themselves

The Duke Blue Devils made sure that they didn’t beat themselves with any mistakes. The team finished the game with no turnovers, didn’t give up any sacks, and more impressive than those two stats, they commited no penalties. The only slip up came in the third quarter when Baylor blocked a punt that they returned for a touchdown.

This year this team has done a good job of limiting the mistakes but capitalizing on their opponents. In the game against Baylor, the Blue Devils defense forced a fumble that led to the first Duke touchdown of the day. The defense then came up big at the end with an interception by Leonard Johnson that was returned for a interception.

They have now won the turnover battle in each of the first three games. If they continue to play this focused on the details, this Duke Blue Devil team could sneak up on some teams in the ACC.
