Blue Devils get run game going

It was a good day for the Blue Devils’ rushing attack as they had a season-high 225 rushing yards. The team was led by Deon Jackson and Quentin Harris, who each had 83 yards, and Brittain Brown who added 55 yards.

The play of Jackson was particularly telling and is the second straight game that he has led the team in rushing. While he didn’t have great numbers against Northwestern (18 carries, 52 yards), he did out-touch Brittain Brown (13 carries, 34 yards). This game Brown did receive more touches (13) than Jackson (10), however Jackson was much more effective and almost doubled the yards per carry (8.3 for Jackson, 4.2 for Brown).

This is something worth watching and it wouldn’t be surprising if this backfield becomes a committee as Jackson has been playing better than Brown the past few games.
