These are the top takeaways from the Duke Blue Devils’ road win over the Baylor Bears.

The Duke Blue Devils entered this game with plenty working against them and it would be hard to blame them if they came up short in Waco. The Blue Devils entered this game without their starting quarterback, Daniel Jones, and star cornerback, Mark Gilbert, who both sustained injuries last week against Northwestern.

On top of the fact they were missing key players, it would be understandable if their mind was back home in North Carolina with historic flooding from Hurricane Florence.

It looked like with everything working against them, the Blue Devils used it as motivation and jumped out to a 23-0 lead at halftime. The Bears made it interesting in the second half, cutting the lead to 10 twice, but Duke held on to remain undefeated with a final score of 40-27 over the Baylor Bears.

In Quentin Harris’ first start, he helped lead this offense with a strong run game and connecting with big pass plays. He finished the game with 174 passing yards with three touchdowns, and added 83 yards on the ground.
